Inanna hangs, pure soul in Underworld
embrace a state where all else is shed
the unknowable within
examined

Dark envelops and enfolds unfelt and yet
retaining power despite abscence
of all that creates
a presence

Paradoxical embrace surround and obscure
hide and conceal deep mystery
at once protecting while
setting free

A seed, a chrysalis, an egg, Gestalt
life contained, secret and inward
energy condensed
unstirred

The pressure of the outside oppressive
instinct to withdraw, seek healing
stripped bare, helpless
free of feeling

Within where none else can ever follow
the soul laid bare, raw ; surrenders
exhausted by life
releases

There the unknowable miracle at last will
bring merciful rejuvination
peace then recovery
new growth
