Her lonely heart there was just no stopping
Yet the fires in the hearth held on to the hoping

When love came a knocking on that Merry Day
An ancient pain turned it away
So then love slumbered till another day
For the blossom to bloom in a future May

So she sang as she swept and cleaned up her house
And the old ones listened; were as quiet as a mouse
